Types of Bail Bond
CASH/SURETY ,(CASH OR SURETY), C/S-
A Cash/Surety Bond CAN be posted by a licensed, resident, bail agent in Colorado. Bail agents in Colorado post Cash/Surety bonds at a percentage of the total bond amount, not to exceed 15%. Bail agents will require a qualified indemnitor (co-signer) that will make themselves liable for the total amount of the Cash/Surety bond. Bail Agents may also require collateral to secure the bond.
A Cash/Surety bond can also be paid in full without a Bail agent. You can remit the full amount of the Bond required by the court to the detention facility where the defendant is being held. Upon payment, the jail will schedule a return court appearance and the defendant will be released. All detention facilities in Colorado allow you to make the payment of cash bonds online and do not require you to bring physical cash to the detention facility. Upon final disposition in the case, the court will remit to you the bond paid.
CASH/PROPERTY/SURETY, CSP-
A Cash/Property/Surety bond CAN be posted by a licensed, resident, bail agent in Colorado. a Cash/Property/Surety bond can be posted in the same two ways that a Cash/Surety bond can be posted. With the additional option of using equity from your owned property in Colorado. requirements for using property to secure bond include the equity in the property be unencumbered and valued at 150% the total bond amount.
CASH ONLY BOND, (CASH BOND), C\O-
A Cash Only Bond cannot be posted through a surety (Bail Agent). A Cash Only Bond requires the full amount be remitted to the detention facility to secure the defendants release. All detention facilities in Colorado allow you to make the payment of cash bonds online and do not require you to bring physical cash to the detention facility. Upon final disposition in the case, the court will remit to you the bond paid.
PERSONAL RECONIZANCE BOND, (PR BOND), PR-
A Personal Recognizance Bond does not require the services of a Bail Agent or payment to the detention facility. A defendant given a Personal Recognizance Bond will be issued a return court date and released on their own “Personal Recognizance Bond”. Personal Recognizance Bonds do not require an indemnitor (Co-Signer) to assume liability for the defendants continued appearance in court.
